French Manicure at Home

I decided to give this very common yet beautiful nail art a try. French Manicures are simplistic and stylish, perfect for any outfit and occasion. To me they make the nails look clean and healthy and even though bold colours aren't used I believe it is still an eye catching piece of work.

The French Manicure set I used was by The Colour Institute. Nothing fancy but can still produce beautiful results. It wasn't expensive to purchase however I don't think it is available any more. It is a wonderful set that includes handy accessories as you can see. Since I'm not an expert I only really used the nail file and the polishes themselves. There is also self adhesive stencils which help you create a neater tip though I did not use them on this occasion.

To begin I simply filed my nails and then applied a clear bottom coat to ensure the polish went on smoothly.

I then applied the French White to about half of each nail. After that with a cotton bud and nail polish remover, I carefully removed the unwanted polish so that it was just at the tips on my nails and removed it so it followed the curvature of my nail.

Once I had perfected the tips, I applied this pretty translucent like pink polish over the whole nail. The white still came through nice and clearly. To finish off I applied a clear top coat for a shiny long lasting finish and went round the edge of my nails with a cotton bud and nail polish remover to remove any messy bits (Particularly on my right hand!)I then moisturised my hands with Soap and Glory Hand Food.

Here is the result. I hope you like it. Any questions or thoughts? Just comment (:

Thanks for reading
